Alfred Foster died at his parents' home after a brief pneumonia illness. He was twenty six. A short funeral service was held at the home, and interment took place in Brookat Cemetery. His parents remain seriously ill with teiponias stiloo.

Young Farmer Charles Ferguson Dies at Twenty Two
Charles Ferguson died at his home east of town last Wednesday after a week of illness. He had endured poor health for some time and spent a year in the south seeking relief. A severe hemorrhage of the lungs preceded his death at age twenty two. He leaves a wife and baby son, his mother Mrs. Clara Ferguson, brothers Edgar, Frank, and John, and sisters Mrs. Clara Carter, Mrs. Mary Robinson, Mrs. Minnie Toppett, and Alta Ferguson. Funeral services were held at the M E church Saturday with Rev. A F Bagby, burial in Brookston cemetery.

Negroes Fined In Norway Liquor Case
Cecile Williams and Edward Byrd, both arrested in Norway on January 14 for receiving intoxicating liquor, pleaded not guilty but were found guilty after testimony. Williams paid a $100 fine plus costs totaling $138 and was sent to the Woman's Prison. Byrd paid the same fine and costs, with county attorney appointed to defend him, and he was sent to the State Farm. Williams and Byrd were employed by Mansfield Engineering Company and worked on Norway dam construction.
