Brookston Young Man John Hayes Dies After Illness
John Hayes of Brookston died at his home Tuesday after a two week illness from diphtheria and scarlet fever. He was 27, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hayes. He married Ruth Dieterle four years ago and is survived by three brothers in Brookston. Funeral was held at the Presbyterian church with interment in Brookston cemetery. Cousin to John W. Nelson, who attended the service.

Funeral for Friar Sharp Held at Bell Center
Friar Sharp died in Germany on November 14 and his funeral was conducted at Bell Center on Thursday at eleven oclock. Rev Elders delivered the sermon in a full military ceremony. Family members from Tipton and Chalmers, including Robert Sharp, Beula Sharp, Thomas Sharp, Mrs Nolan Sharp, and Mrs Nolan Sharp’s husband, attended. The family expressed thanks for the support and the floral offerings were noted as beautiful.
