Figures dispel a Smith myth in New York politics
The piece argues Governor Smith’s statewide support faded outside New York City, citing 1922 1924 and 1926 election statistics. It claims he would have lost rural and upstate counties, carried only Albany in 1924, and ended with large losses beyond Tammany control, reducing him to a city politician.
