The state board of parole approved forty paroles this week for inmates at the local reformatory. Prisoners will be released as suitable work becomes available. The current inmate total at Anamosa Reformatory stands at 1,381.
The Dairy Cattle Congress in Waterloo runs October 2 to 8 with entries pouring in from a dozen states. Belgian horse entries and livestock from about twenty-five states are expected, with ten acres of outdoor space and nine major buildings filled for exhibits.
