Monticello High Sees Attendance Milestones and Schedule
Monticello public schools report enrollment totals for 1923-24 with high school at 143 pupils. Aiming to reduce absences and tardiness, the system notes perfect attendance in the tenth to twelfth grades during week one while ninth grade shows a small unavoidable absence. Highlights include new penmanship teacher Gladys Emmons, freshmen class officers, Philomathean society activities, faculty return from vacation, and the upcoming football opener vs Colesburg with a full schedule through November 16. The school also notes a $49.29 Red Cross contribution toward Japanese relief, a grape disposal notice from W G Parsons, and class adviser assignments for all grades.
