Ring Lost 27 Years Ago Found In Afton Grove
The 27 year old wedding ring of Mrs. Harry Seehusen was found by her granddaughter while playing near the original grove where she misplaced it in 1920. The tale ties to a family move from Jefferson Iowa to Tokyo and a B 17 crash near Honolulu leaving Lieut Virgil Carley missing.

The Monticello Iowa City Council enacts an ordinance authorizing forty one thousand dollar Juvenile Swimming Pool and Playgrounds Bonds to fund land and facilities. Bonds bear 1.5 percent interest with semiannual coupons and mature from 1948 through 1965. Tax levies through 1965 secure interest and principal. Bond sale to Quail and Co and Byer Rueffel Co.
