Gib Paulson of Graettinger trained with Detroit for a spring and was joined by fellow rookie Carl Hubbell. Hubbell stayed with Detroit longer but both were released, Hubbell ultimately thriving with the New York Giants as World Series hero while Paulson returned to Graettinger and Estherville town ball.
