How Absent Voters Can Cast Their Votes
If you will be away from your polling place on election day you can vote by absent ballot. Apply to your county auditor more than 20 days before the election to request an absent voter ballot if you are ill disabled or otherwise unable to vote in person.
Official Ballot Process For Elections Described
The article explains that county auditors provide blank ballot applications to voters who must fill them out and swear before an officer. After receiving the official ballot voters mark it privately, sign the oath on the return envelope, and mail it in a carrier envelope. Ballots are then opened and treated as if cast at the polls. It notes that teachers and others away from home can use this privilege.
