Chicago trip marks end of a month convalescence for Miss Liella Oltman a student nurse at South Shore hospital. Her relatives Mrs Ed Rice and cousin Mrs Carrie Stevens accompany her and plan visits and attendance at the Century of Progress exposition.

Jones county board in Anamosa met September 10 194 to continue tax levy for state county school and corporate purposes. An August 12 record reports appointment of Vadena Rose Finney as overseer of poor at 120 dollars monthly. Grand jury findings call for jail heating and bedding repairs and commend custodians at the county home. Election judges and clerks for November 6 1994 were named.
The Jones County board of supervisors met in Anamosa on October 2 1934 with full membership. They denied a petition signed by 171 electors to reduce supervisors from five to three for lack of signers. The board authorized destruction of 1934 primary ballots and nomination papers. They denied a blind pension for Walter Norris. They approved quarterly auditor recorder clerk of district court and sheriff reports detailing fees and revenues. They authorized tax remittance for Carrie Groat and listed several tax refunds approved. The meeting included adjournment and reconvening with discussions on tax district values and suspended state accounts.
Public notice is given that Co. A. Doxsee has been appointed and commissioned by the district court of Jones County Iowa as executor of the estate of Edward Hoyt deceased. All claims must be filed with the court clerk sworn and within time. Creditors asked to repay promptly to avoid costs. Dated Anamosa Iowa September 28 1934. Doxsee Executor. A final hearing is set for October 20 1934 before the district court at Anamosa Iowa. Interested parties may appear file exceptions and show cause why reports should not be approved.
Iowa Jones county auditor reports the commissioner's view to vacate a section of primary road 113 running southwest along the railroad.
