Farm Bureau Hears Nicol on Income Pie and Policy
H S Nicol Iowa Farm Bureau livestock head told the Jones County Farm Bureau annual meeting that farming alone does not set the national income pie. He cited outside factors such as trade policy and monetary policy and urged strong agricultural groups to shape policy. He outlined five factors for stable farmer income: tillage, high yielding grain, proper care, and balanced rations. Iowa livestock gains, he noted, stem from better methods and breeding, with channels for marketing a key challenge. The Seehusen family visited Waukon with the Kreebs.
