Dhoked in the Jungle Tiger Fight and Daily Plowing
Sitaram Dhas toiled at dawn with a crude plow and two yoke bullocks while his wife Mana and sister Itebi urged him on. A tiger attack at dusk killed one bullock and wounded Rebi the wife in a fierce defense by Mana and Rebi, who died later from wounds. Rajandra Lal ordered a blood sacrifice, but the family’s resolve and Ramchand's skills spared the child. Sitaram later profited from the tiger kill, receiving money from officials and traders, and prospered, while his faith in Bhawani waned amid new beliefs.
