The Hopkinton Leader reports a new rural mail route ordered to run west and northwest of Monticello, touching the Delaware county line. The path will reach areas that should be served by this office, expanding local postal service.
Hon George Lathrop returns from Iowa City reporting Gladys recovering rapidly from her operation. She is improving and surprising the physicians in charge as he contemplates remaining here unless a change requires his return.
Rev Geo N Greer declines to head Beulah congregation and will keep preaching in Santa Anna California where he has been based for months. He may choose to stay permanently at his current location. Dogs killed several sheep at F A Bart’s Hardscrabble farm last week. The owner of the animals is held liable for all damages. A wedding occurred at the James Slauson residence near Sand Spring on November 22. Miss Carolyn Slauson married Roland Bannister of Newton Iowa. The ceremony was by Rev J F Bindenberger. After a brief visit with relatives, the couple will reside in Newton where the groom works in a grocery business.
