Ladehoff Wins Jones County Husking Title Again
Joe Ladehoff of Scotch Grove captured the third annual Jones county cornhusking crown at an Ana mosa farm on Saturday October 27. His 1930 pounds of corn in the eighty minute contest produced a net 1645.05 pounds after deductions, ahead of Chris Griem Clarence with 1612.2 pounds. Frank Remington Martelle finished third with 1524 pounds net. The windy day reduced records and caused broken corn and slowed the bangboards. The contest listed ten rivals with totals and deductions for corn gleanings and husks.
