Jim Holmes earns another state berth in the 220 yard dash and Marvin Rickels joins the 880 yard relay, with Holmes already on the mile medley squad. The thief peeled a door with a chisel to enter a rear storage shed then pried a window to the store. A padlock was broken from inside to speed escape. The break occurred after 11 30 p m Wednesday and before 8 a m Thursday. Owner Brenton Pearson insured. Sheriff Dreibelbis seeks help from the State Bureau of Criminal Investigation amid similar eastern Iowa break ins.

Funeral services for John Mayberry were held Tuesday at 1 30 pm in Onslow Presbyterian Church with Rev George K Traden officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery Monticello. Survived by wife and three sons Earl Delbert and Dale. Cancer fund drive raised 92 with Mildred Streeper as chair and assistants.
