Most Buildings On Koppes Farm New Since 1948
Leo and Vince Koppes operate the 160 acre farm in Clay township near Onslow off highway 136. Since 1948 all but two barns were rebuilt, with a new house a corn crib with overhead granary a 40 by 60 foot machine shed and a garage. They feed about 300 hogs 75 steers and 30 beef heifers yearly and have owned the farm since 1947 after taking over from their father Nicholas Koppes who bought it in 1927. May Day Hobo Party at Cass No 4 School
Seventeen Cass No 4 rural school students and teacher Mrs Ida Cass hosted a May day Hobo party. The noon meal was prepared by students using Buddy Burners and included hamburgers carrot sticks fruit cookies and a fruit drink. Wayne Oltman attended carrying his meal in a bandana tied to a stick.
