Hickenlooper Warns Against Soil Depletion at Anamosa Meeting
Governor B. R. Hickenlooper warned that soil productivity will decline as demand rises unless sound soil conservation practices are adopted. Speaking at Anamosa before the Jones County district, he urged long term planning and noted limited gains in cultivated land over 60 years. William Stanton was elected to a six year district board term. About 100 farmers attended with Anamosa High School students.
