Monticello Fights Hard but Falls to Dysart in District
In a Waterloo district tournament Madison County Monticello defeated Decorah 23 to 18 in the opener but then lost to Dysart 22 to 6 in the semifinals. The Monticello squad showed fatigue from a heavy late-season schedule while Dysart’s long-range shooting overwhelmed their defense. The hibit loses ended Monticello’s bid for a state berth as Dysart advanced to the Boone finals.
