Harold Reason of Council Bluffs sues George and Harry Eyberg for $1500 after a large dog owned by the defendants reportedly ran onto a highway near Oakland causing his car to overturn and him to suffer a broken collar bone.
Millard Harrington of Williams burg Iowa county is a noted collector with diverse holdings. He has 500 varieties of eggs including hummingbird and alligator eggs, 300 woods varieties, 2600 stamps, 119 foreign and 54 rare U S coins, and a list of 700 plants native to Iowa county.
Three Milford girls explored a reputedly haunted house on West Okoboji lake. A ghastly groan sent them fleeing only to see laughing boys peering from a window, clearly the pranksters behind the scare.
D J Condon is held in Cedar Rapids Linn County on assault with intent to inflict great bodily injury. He allegedly attacked Dr J J Murphy who had been summoned for treatment of his son shot in the abdomen. The boy recovers. In a hospital corridor they argued over payment when Condon became angry and knocked Murphy unconscious and kicked him in the face.
A. R. Baumgardner of Sioux City proves Iowa soil is fertile by planting a potato in a house plant pot in his basement. The plant sprouted and produced five potatoes nearly filling the pot, demonstrating remarkable potato yield in confined soil.
In Iowa County the Amana woolen mill begins a three eight hour shift, operating around the clock to meet an eastbound order for vast two tone flannel. Management cites lack of skilled labor as delaying earlier implementation and predicts months of weaving remain.
St John Lutheran with pastor Paul Gut knecht offers English services at 10 30 and English Lenten service next Wednesday at 7 45. St Matthew Lutheran led by H L Adix holds German Sunday school at 9 45 and English worship at 10 45.
