City committee wins CWA painting project for Anamosa
A Anamosa city council committee traveled to Des Moines and secured a CWA project to paint city property including the public library, city and Legion buildings, waterworks equipment, and park stands. Six painters began at the library with Charles Ryan in charge. Homer Boots, longtime former Anamosa resident, died at Mercy hospital Cedar Rapids on March 7. Funeral services are set for Beam Miller chapel at 2 p.m. Friday. W. H. Null of Monticello announced candidacy for sheriff on the Republican ticket for June primary. Mr Null has served as night marshal in Monticello. A serious accident near Anamosa damaged the Fleckenstein car family. none seriously injured. The Ford, with only 1300 miles, was wrecked as rain reduced visibility.
