Best Farmstead Layout Guidance by Fitzsimmons
Fitzsimmons recommends locating the corncrib and granary between the hog house and cattle barn to aid feeding. The poultry house should be near the feed supply with a dedicated feed room to reduce trips. The machine shed and shop should face away from prevailing wind yet stay near the farm court, with the garage attachment options—either to the machine shed or the house—to minimize lawn disruption and preserve kitchen views.
