February report shows 17 herds on test with 301 cows in milk 65 dry total 366 tested. Association average 680 pounds milk and 4.3 butterfat. March 5 Deadline Set for 4-H Cattle Projects
ANAMOSA Saturday March 5 marks the final day for 4-H members to enroll junior cattle feeder projects. Jerry Parsons says youths must notify the extension office with weigh in details. Each project includes three beef animals of any age weight or sex and provides hands on experience in raising and feeding cattle. About 15 units are expected to be weighed by Saturday afternoon.

Linn County Breeding Association to Hold 12th Annual Meeting
The Linn County Co operative Artificial Breeding Association will hold its 12th annual meeting Tuesday March 8 in Marion at the Methodist church basement. A cheese display and dairy product dinner will accompany the event. The group serves Linn and Jones counties and has grown from under 30 members to over 1500 dairymen with eight breeds and sixty bulls.

Onslow Club Hosts Charities Shower for Snyder Family
The Onslow South Prairie Homemakers sponsored a community shower in the town building to aid the Marvin Snyder family who lost their home and belongings in a recent fire. Donors supplied towels bedding dishes lamps and laundry aids as Mrs. Jack Taylor performed accordion selections and Arthur Wallace led group singing.

Five Jones county men attended the Iowa Swine Producers association annual meeting Feb. 28 at Iowa State College. Attendees were Otto Danneman Amber Harvey Manuel Center Junction Max Specht Monticello Floyd Hodgdon Oxford Junction and Joe E. Legg county extension director. Dr. L N Hazel and Dr D V Catron professors at Iowa State spoke and afternoon sessions offered tips on strengthening the county swine association.
