A five story wall at 765 781 South Halstead Chicago collapsed at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday killing seven people and injuring others. The York dry goods block had been fire gutted since January 11. Nearby residents John Schmidt and William Kunze perished with multiple family members as the debris trapped ten people. Firefighters removed bodies through hours of effort, with Fred Kunze and John Schmidt among those recovered.
