Monticello school board hears building study report
The Monticello school board met February 27 with Dubuque architectural representative Gene Gordon presenting a feasibility study on the old and new high school units plus Carpenter and Shannon grade schools. He cited lighting ventilation and sound as main issues with life expectancies ranging from 21 to 45 years. The board discussed a potential swimming pool, a faculty salary proposal, and backers of a Grand Canyon canoe trip contingent on liability waivers and insurance. Other actions included textbook and policy updates, a tentative 12 passenger van cost of 4200, and DPI evaluation plans for Supt. Messerli and Dorothy Adams.
