Funeral Services For Frank Good In Monticello
Funeral services for Frank Good of Denver Colorado were held Saturday with Rev. William J. Grossheim officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood cemetery beside his wife Lulu Peltier Good who died in 1931. He was 49, born April 25, 1884, and died June 19 in Denver of heart trouble. He was a printer by trade with past work in Hopkinton Monticello and Cedar Rapids. survived by three brothers George James John and a sister Mrs. Fred Matheson.

Miss Faye Cass daughter of Mr and Mrs Merle Cass and Paul Harms son of Herman Harms were married yesterday at the Cass home Monticello in a noon ceremony conducted by Rev William J Grossheim. The wedding featured a three course luncheon for 975 relatives and friends and a reception. The couple will reside in Manchester where Harms operates Cass Transportation line. Out of town guests came from Solon Anamosa Cedar Rapids Dubuque and Solda. Geologists from the University of North Carolina found Miocene era shark teeth and mollusk shells near Elizabethtown.

Howard Baldwin editor of The Pioneer in Cascade is one of three Democratic candidates for the nomination to succeed Matt B. Cooney as state senator from Dubuque County. Cooney resigns July 1 to join the state board of parole. a special election is set for early August. Fabrian Becket and R. F. Offerman are the other contenders. The county central committee will choose the Democratic candidate, who is seen as likely to win election.

Three Men Electrocuted in Hayfield Near Anamosa
Three men died when a hay pole fell onto a high tension line on a farm rented by John Gerdes east of Anamosa. Victims were John Gerdes 49 Leo Walderbach 16 and Louis Walderbach 22. A sister intervened to stop the runaways. coroner ruled no inquest. Funeral details for Gerdes and the Walderbach brothers noted.

After three dry weeks crops recover with nearly two inches of rain from a Thursday night thunder shower on June 22 23. Additional showers Wednesday Friday and the weekend raise total rainfall to about one and three quarter inches. Corn expected knee high by the Fourth of July.

Warden C H Ireland Dies At Anamosa
Warden C H Ireland of the state men s reformatory at Anamosa died late Tuesday afternoon from heart leakage after days of illness. He was 53 and had served as warden since January 1 1992. He served in the Spanish American War and later held several local positions before becoming warden. He is survived by his widow two daughters and a son and his mother. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Methodist church.
