Scotch Grove Celebrates Bicentennial With Parade and Flag
Scotch Grove Iowa marked its Bicentennial Sunday's parade and program at Balster's warehouse. The event featured 4 H groups and family floats, a flag presentation by John Conrad III to Louie Hanken, who then presented it to WWI veteran Henry J. Ricklefs, and honors for the village’s oldest residents.

Monticello City Council Advances Sewage and Traffic Plans
The council discussed funding to hire an archeologist for EPA compliance costs around $200 and billed city share for engineering work on inlet outflow analysis at $360.91. A proposed private sewer line across Shover's field to serve a trailer court was tentatively approved, with city maintenance after acceptance. The meeting covered Birch Street culvert, Harm Bunting sewer hookup, and Easement approval, plus signs at Cedar and First streets. A floodplain approval from NRC was noted and the 1976 77 budget was approved with a $2,649 overage. Parking revenue tallies showed 781 meter tickets May 18 through June 17.
