Western Canada Sees Surge in Immigration This Spring
Canada reports 40 672 immigrants in first four months, almost double last year and triple 1901, drawn largely to wheat lands in the Northwest. Over a third come from Great Britain, with 13 770 from the United States and 10 445 from Continental Europe. Canada’s growth outpaces U S arrivals in proportion and signals a strong agricultural pull, with government agents offering literature and low rates to Western lands.
