Cook tops four way bid for Jones County sheriff
John Cook of Monticello led a four way Democratic primary with 75 percent of 569 votes, securing the nomination for Jones County sheriff. He won 932 votes to 415 for Harvey DeSotel, 180 for Larry Rickels, and 97 for Jack Fowler, with 35 percent required to win the nomination.
