Center Junction Soldier Dies of Okinawa Wounds
Pvt. Lawrence Fetersen, 26, of Center Junction died June 15 in an Okinawa hospital from wounds suffered the same day. He entered service December 27, 1948, trained at Camp Roberts, and served with the 17th Infantry Division in Hawaii, the Philippines, the Marianas, and Okinawa. He is survived by his mother Anna Petersen, two brothers John and Chris, and sister Mary Balster. He was born in Center Junction and worked on local farms before joining the service.
