Iowa Women Lead Home Nursing Drive Since Pearl Harbor
The Iowa state health department reports 20 000 women attended home nursing classes since Pearl Harbor. Led by Miss Marie Neu schafer, public health nursing director, the program funded 1000 plus classes with 20 plus members each. Volunteer graduate nurses taught most sessions while 700 inactive grads in 57 counties donated service and refresher courses supported local teaching efforts.

Man Killed By Live Wire in 1932 Iowa Accident
Fred Behrends an Iowa electric lineman was shocked on July 27 while working on a light pole near Wayne Center schoolhouse. The 2250 volt jolt knocked him off the pole, paralyzing him from the neck down. He died two days later at John Mc Donald hospital. He left a wife and four children. Other items note C. J.
