Small Town Life and Rail Depot Notes in Monticello
Monticello residents favor Zimmer mans and Eggers as common rest spots for retirees and weary locals. The CMSTP depot, once painted 16 years ago, gets attention while plans proceed to repair the boiler and replace coal stoves with hot water heat next fall. A Sunday road tavern incident draws no prosecutions. A 23 cent 1936 Fair check sits idle. The Nowadsky children create a house to barn communication link. Mr. Bradbrook walks five miles daily. Leslie Balster leads a new dance orchestra at Zim's rehearsal hall. Merle Jacobson paints high service poles using a brush-on-stick idea.
