Good Furniture Refinishing Ideas and a Bridge Accident
Extension specialist Miss Ruut Cessna of Iowa State advises carefully evaluating old walnut or mahogany pieces hidden under paint for value. The piece should be solid, well repaired, and have simple design to finish naturally with wax varnish or oil. A bridge contractor, Pete Herman, survived a fall when a rope saved him, while Clyde French fell to the bridge deck and was badly bruised.

Officials note the 1936 farm program Class I rate at 14.90 dollars per acre countywide with variations by farm productivity. Payments depend on soil-depleting crops diverted to soil conserving uses up to 15 percent of base acreage, while Class II soil-building payments also exist.
