Seed potato seed stock urged for Iowa growers in 1922
C L Pitch of Iowa State College says Iowa must import new seed potatoes for 1922 to avoid large losses. He notes 75 000 acres of early Ohios damaged by last summer and recommends fresh seed from northern areas for better yields. If 100 000 acres are planted with careful seed, a one quarter crop saving is possible, and growers should stock seed for future seasons.
