The Olin Recorder reports the death of 5. P. Southwick in Olin on January 18 at age 74. A native of Chautauqua County New York he moved to Jones County in 1856. He served several terms on the Jones County Board of Supervisors including two as chairman. Funeral services were by Rev. A Hooker of the U B church of Olin with Masonic honors.
