Seven year old Carol Streng daughter of Mr and Mrs John Streng was struck by a car driven by Cyril Strang while walking to school. She suffered a mild concussion and minor injuries and was taken to a Du buque hospital for examination.

Langworthy's Farmer's Mutual Cooperative Creamery held its January meeting on the 10th and scheduled the annual creamery meeting for January 30. The Sunshine club met January 14 with Mrs. George J. Smith hosting. visitors Mrs. Jack Buol and Mrs. Don Crow attended. Refreshments followed the business session. A relatives group helped George Schafer celebrate his 60th birthday with cards and later refreshments. Additional Sunday visits included Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Arduser to Mrs. Arduser's mother Mrs. Alice Taylor and guests Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Taylor. Other Sunday meals included Mrs. Marie Prull and family at Ralph Zimmerman’s home and Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Dierks with Herman Rickless family.
Jones County extension director Joe H. Legg says annual income tax returns show the value of year long record keeping. He urges farmers to start permanent tax management and says a free booklet and paid record books are available from the extension office at Anamosa.
