Midland school builds advisory committee and approves actions
A 66 member Midland building advisory committee was formed to study a building plan for the Midland Board of Education with Irvin Sievers as chairman and Mrs. Kenneth Brunscheen as secretary. Superintendent Ridout may attend a national school administrators convention in Atlantic City in February. A meeting with the faculty salary committee is set for Monday Jan 17. Ridout should develop proposals for school equipment funds ending Aug 1 1966 under the ESEA. Specifications for one or two new school buses for 1966 67 were approved. The board reviewed the Area Vocational School project planned near Cedar Rapids serving several counties. Invest 12000 in local bank CDs at 4 percent for six months. Fox Sheltered Annuity Plan for teachers was approved. Center Jet third grade split into two sections with Miss Hertha Leysen hired for the extra section. FIREMAN SUPPER honored long term members and three ten year members. Mrs Lamt French won the door prize. Mrs Bernadine Smith returned from a visit in Colorado Springs and Denver. Sheryl Storm is a medical patient in Anamosa. Mrs Myron French is home after confinement.
