Everett Mayberry of Anamosa was chosen chairman of the Jones county board of supervisors at the first 1965 meeting, succeeding Henry Adams. Last November’s Onslow joined the board. incumbents Adams, Louie Hanken, and Grove Benischek continued. The board approved deputy and clerk appointments, named medical examiners, designated official newspapers, set welfare board members, and designated county depositories. 1964 actions included bond approvals for county officials and fund transfers between road and general funds, with the 1964 domestic animal claims paid and the session closing with a cash count.
