Iowa highway plan cuts affect Jones county projects
The Iowa State Highway Commission unveiled a five year plan with minimal Jones county work led by resurfacing 4.4 miles of highway 38 from Monticello to the Delaware line. Total Jones county spending drops to 989000 dollars, a 60 percent cut from last year, with specific costs for right of way, grade and drain, and paving across 1969 to 1974.

A judgment over two thousand dollars was awarded Friday in Jones county district court. Central Construction Co. received 2078.68 from Bernard and Helen Kula of Mar telle plus five percent interest and costs for improvements on defendants’ property. A foreclosure of a mechanics lien was ordered. Other suits include McNeal Memorial hospital of Berwyn as assignee of APCO Oil Co. versus Ralph A. and Carolyn Jamieson for 743.11 with interest and costs. E L Granton M D versus Donald R. and Janice Hamilton for 241. Lee Foster versus W V Napier for 4527.75 with interest and costs. and a divorce filing by Lorraine E Healy against John C Healy.
