Monticello Scouts Earn Eagle Scout Awards at Court of Honor
Two Monticello youths Steve DeSousa and Mark Intekofer received Eagle Scout awards at a Monday Court of Honor in the Monticello Community building. Ed McLain presented the honors to their fathers. Other awards were given to several scouts including Life and Star ranks with multiple recipients listed.

Jones county district court heard multiple actions including a petition by the Board of Health to halt dumping on a 10 acre site near Anamosa Morley road after residents cited pollution risks. The case targets D J Refuse Removal Inc and John E and Darlene Jacobsen for a nuisance abatement. Also filed were a declaratory judgment over a Jones county farm sale and possession dispute, two divorce petitions, a habeas corpus writ, and several OMVI and DUI charges with divorces granted for two couples.
