Camp Fire Group Holds Party Here
The Chesk Cha May Camp Fire group held a party at the Community building Friday evening Feb. 3. Each girl invited a friend as her guest with parents and sponsors also invited. The evening featured games dancing square dancing and refreshments at the end.

Fourteen Names Identify Vernon Null Farm Near Monticello
Jack Gray of Center Junction first reported the Vernon Null farm on highway 38, four miles southeast of Monticello. Twelve others including Mrs. John F Null and Mrs. Vernon Null identified it, with Pvt Marvin Zimmerman supplying the key naval letter clue. The Nulls, who recently moved from the Paul Jacobs and Oltman farms, now have three children Bobby Diane and Richard and a new machine shed and corn crib built last fall.

Willis H. Lyon educational director of the Iowa Temperance League led a Monticello high school assembly with a program on Alcohol and Other Narcotics in Their Relation to the Brain. The lecture urged students to seek facts and form conclusions free from prejudice using Lyon's self invented visual aids to show alcohol’s effects on brain functions.
