Corn Hog Rules Relax Pigs Purchases In 1935
A new ruling grants freedom from limits on feeder pig purchases in 1935 for contract signers. They may buy feeder stocker and breeding hogs from any sellers but must file a purchase statement with the county allotment committee detailing date, number, kind, and seller name. Feeder pigs must bear S50 marks for identification. The piece notes growers face holding 1934 gains, drought effects, and risks of overplanting corn as prices and demand patterns shift.

Wyoming Town Sign Up Leads 1935 Corn Hogs Contracts
Wyoming township began its sign up for 1935 contracts on January 29, with Lovell and Clay townships following last week. Farmers signing the same farm as last year use the existing application blank. those not farming the same land must file a new base and complete a work sheet. Those renting or changing bases must submit supporting evidence and a work sheet. Officials anticipate a sign up as large as 1934 and praise farmer familiarity with terms. The court house hosted meeting of women’s home project groups to plan the 1935 program and Achievement Day in Monticello on February 22, with committees appointed by county chairman Mrs. Harold Hartman.

Corn Hog Prospects Shape 1935 Farm Outlook
A 1934 drought led to cattle and hog reductions, with corn demand shifting to livestock Feed. If 1935 corn plantings rise with average yields, a large surplus may depress prices. Britain and Germany limit hog imports, while domestic programs push follow ups to manage production. Local notes cover school declamatory contest, Women’s club events, signups, hospital visits, and community happenings.
