City officials debated traffic handling for a proposed replacement bridge. The plan routes 1000 to 2200 vehicles via Monticello with truck traffic, may remove some parking near the bank corner and North Cedar street, and keeps the new bridge on the present alignment. The new structure will be 480 feet long and 30 feet wide, five feet higher in grade and overall height than the existing 320 by 20 feet span.
