Property Assessed At Full Value Nationwide Reform
The attorney general directs all real estate and personal property to be assessed at actual value, ending the 60 percent basis. The shift may not raise taxes if levy reductions accompany higher valuations. Rumored bonding limits in some counties prompted the move. Jones county is safely away from its limit, but uniform statewide assessment remains the goal.
