New Federal Plan Enables Cattle Move From Drought Areas

The Agricultural Adjustment Administration announced a plan to move cattle from drought regions to feed surplus areas. It aims to help western cattle producers dispose of unsustainable winter stock and connect them with farmers in other regions who have feed to sell or feed cattle. The government will serve only as an information clearinghouse, not buying or selling cattle. Officials noted the plan includes a total federal allotment.
