Center Junction residents prepare for the Presbyterian church Christmas program "What Child Is This" on December 23 at 7 30 p m. The pageant features readers, kings, shepherds, angels and soloists with a nursery program preceding it. Alex P Parissis Rizos aged 51 died at 4 40 a m Saturday after a long illness at his Cedar Rapids home. Born in Larisa Greece on July 20 1894 he moved from Wyoming to Cedar Rapids this year. He is survived by his wife Florence two daughters Joan and Julia and a son John all of Cedar Rapids and a brother Mike Rizos of Mobile Alabama. Funeral services were held at Turner chapel at 130 p m Monday with Rev F A Munke and burial followed at Linwood cemetery.
Neighborhood clubs held holiday events with member counts cited. The Progressive Women’s Club of Wyoming hosted a Christmas party at Mrs. Lyle Tompkins residence with readings, carols, a Christmas story, gift exchange, and refreshments. Hawthorne club met at Mrs. Irvin Eden’s home for carols, solos, a Birds’ Christmas Carol reading, gifts, and a social hour with 18 members and a guest.
