Nov 23 to 26 Court Entries At Cascade And Anamosa
On November 23 Kenneth Schneider of Monticello faced disturbing the peace charges with $10 in costs. Vasily Flich Dza hoff of Cascade was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive with $10 costs. A Cascade minor was charged with no operator's license carrying $5 costs. On November 25 Lawrence William Richards of Anamosa and Maurice E Brady of Cascade faced no operator's license charges with $5 and $10 costs respectively. Two Sentenced On Theft Count
Paul Michels of Monticello and James Noel Townsend of Anamosa were sentenced to up to five years at hard labor in the state penitentiary at Ft. Madison after pleading guilty to larceny. They admitted taking equipment valued at about 135 dollars from C. B. Dewees Construction Company quarry southeast of Olin on Nov 26. Stolen gear included a Caterpillar tractor, rollers, crushers and other steel equipment later sold to a Marion salvage company for 26.60 and 12 dollars. The money was paid by check, which was cashed.

Girl Receives Card from Mamie Eisenhower

In Jones County eight townships will elect their Extension Council representatives next fall. At meetings November 28 and 29 Jones County Extension Director Joe Legg and WMT Cedar Rapids Farm Director Bob Nance spoke in Scotch Grove and Center Junction. M. P. Paulsen and O. K. Pvt King Graduates From European Ordnance School
Pvt Glen R King 23 of Monticello son of Mr and Mrs Delmar King recently graduated from the vehicle repairman course at the army s European ordnance school in Fressen Germany. He returned to duty with battery B of the 63rd Field Artillery battalion after graduation. King entered the army in 1955 and trained at Fort Chaffee before overseas posting in July. A 1951 Monticello High School graduate he was a farmer in civilian life.

Council Considers Two Appointments After Local Leader Deaths
The city council weighed candidates for two vacancies created by the deaths of Mayor A. P. Lambert and Councilman Paul Hearn at a special meeting. Voting Places Announced for Jones County Referendum
Jones County residents will vote Tuesday December 11 on the government acreage program referendum. A.A.C. committee chair Richard Hartwig Anamosa said township committees will meet December 7 at 1 p.m. to share information. Each polling place open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. will be run by a three resident in the township voting eligibility group.

Bad Check Charges Filed at Anamosa Court
