MHS introduces new staff for 10th grade English and Spanish Sheryl McIntosh from UNI Shari Glenn from ISU teaches home economics and Marsha Miller also joins the faculty after graduation elsewhere.
Five new teachers join Monticello elementary schools led by principals Gordon Cook and Lois Shover. The group includes Dan Rohner and Sherry Aschbrenner from Iowa State University, Villa Gordon from Northwestern College, and Frank Gorshe from the University of Iowa.
The board discusses sports finances noting football accounts for most receipts while golf softball baseball and track bring little income. Basketball uses gate receipts to support programs with low funding and a Title IX report cites gender imbalances and curricular gaps with a grievance process in place.
State auditor Lloyd R. Smith announces an 18 month Monticello audit ending June 30 1975 filed for public inspection. The report details 31 funds receipts totaling 1 243 746 98, bond issues, budgets and recommendations including soldiers memorial accounts and a 55 000 anticipated street bond warrant.
