County Coroner Arrests Sheriff in Jones County
Coroner Jim Hayes served an arrest warrant on Sheriff Henry Eichhorn on August 14 charging him with larceny. The case stems from the arrest of Emmet Peacock, a night club operator, whose cash register yielded 43 dollars. Eichhorn is free on a 500 dollar bond and says the money is in his safe. State Agent Arthur took the funds from Peacock and counted them with Peacock, then turned the money over to Eichhorn. Peacock allegedly seeks spite.
