Jones County Farm Bureau and Maquoketa Valley Rural Electrification Association will relocate from the East Erly hotel area to the former National Bank building in Anamosa. The bank site will be vacated by the county treasurer's office once the new courthouse is ready. The move aims to provide more space and better stage accommodations.

Two floats representing the Jones county Farm Bureau and the Scotch Grove township 4-H clubs appeared in the Scotch Grove centennial parade held last Saturday. The Farm Bureau float was planned by Fairview township committee led by Mrs. H. E. Stover. The 4-H float was planned by Scotch Grove 4-H clubs under Ed Helgens and Eloise Kuhns. The floats are slated to appear again at the Jones County Fair parade.

Three Townships Hold Meetings This Week
The Greenfield township Farm Bureau met Tuesday at W. B. Meeks home east of Martelle with the girls 4-H club leading the program under Mrs. Cecil Miller. Rome and Hale townships held a joint meeting Friday evening at Olin high school directed by Oliver Furst. Chauncey Houstman of Olin gave readings as part of the program and discussions covered rural electrification home project work and soil conservation.

4 H Demonstration Contest Scheduled At County Fair
Ten demonstration teams from local clubs compete in the county wide 4 H club demonstration contest at the county fair. The event begins at 9 30 in the morning and runs through the day with topics on posture household tasks kitchen equipment care ironing kerosene stove care and management. Mrs Geraldine Elliott serves as official judge and visitors to the Jones County Fair are invited to view booth exhibits reflecting the home efficiency project from the past year.

The Wyoming historical society will meet Friday afternoon in the school auditorium at 2 30 PM. The program covers events from 1870 to 1889 and includes a picnic supper where attendees bring a covered dish. All interested in local history are invited to attend.
Monticello Park Picnic for Rogers Family Draws 102
A Sunday picnic at Monticello park honored Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rogers of St. Francis Kansas and their six children with 102 attendees. The event included guests from Elkader Marysville and Mount Vernon along with nearby relatives and friends.
Hogan Rites Held In Hopkinton For W P Hogan
Funeral services were held at St. Luke's in Hopkinton for W P Hogan born Castle Grove Feb 25 1876 son of Michael Hogan and wife. He died Aug 8 at Mercy hospital Anamosa after a week in hospital. He led in livestock trading and was president of Citizens State Bank at death. Burial at Castle Grove Catholic cemetery. New Hopkinton officers were elected for the community club H J Dunlap president Joe Moulton vice-president and F M Wheeless secretary treasurer. Harvest Home picnic plan announced at McNeill's Grove near primary.
