Gressly license mixup sparks state conservation clash
Marengo farmer C R Gressly faced justice court for shipping furs without a license. Investigations showed the commission issued his license in the name Gressly, correcting a one letter spelling error that had labeled him Cressly. The confusion ignited a dispute over who held lawful credentials. Peter P. Laposky owns a unique Nash 881 touring car, driven 26 years with 200000 miles, licensed 18 times in Colorado and Iowa, and never in an accident or ticketed. Charles McLean pedals across states, riding 230 miles from Lone Tree to Garner to Ames in two days, then returns by bicycle.
