Six Year Old Hurt In Wagon Fall At Scotch Grove
Gary Grom six son of Mr and Mrs Donald Grom of Scotch Grove sustained a broken collar bone when he fell from a wagon pulled by a car while riding with his brother Howard last Thursday. His brother Philip rode in the car. The accident occurred as two wagon wheels ran over him.

Oxford Junction American Legion Auxiliary met in the Auxiliary room on Tuesday evening August 6 with President Mrs. Floyd Hodgdon in charge. They planned fence painting in the park August 15 and 16 if rain. Cookies were sent to Clinton Domiciliary in July and Knoxville this month. August committee includes Mrs. Verne Shedek and Mrs. Glen Bright with a long list of members. Arlette Oster reported on Girls State Cedar Falls and officers for the year were named.

Four Painters Fall From Scaffold at Anamosa Church
Four men painting the Methodist church in Anamosa fell about 26 feet when a scaffold broke. The workers were Larry Wessels, Jerry Opson, Don Leggett, and Robert Pooley. none were seriously injured.

Bees Rescued From Hedge in Laurens by Mrs Muller
Mrs. Elmer Muller rescued six pounds of bees swarming on a Laurens hedge last week. The swarm contained about 18 000 bees and refused to enter a hive, so she corraled them from their temporary roost.
